Santa Fe 9533 rush with a hot westbound into the LA basin. Meanwhile a eastbound pig train races eastbound toward Cajon Pass.

It's the day after Thanksgiving and rather than shopping I'm out on Friday morning chasing trains. It 11 degrees as this eastbound manifest nears the town of Bancroft, Idaho.

Santa Fe didn't lack for variety in their motive power. On this local they have 2872 a GP35r, 3674 a GP39-2, 3044 a GP20, and lastly a B23-7 or B36-7.

A VALMY coal train makes it way along the Ex Western Pacific main. Rolling through the salt evaporation ponds on the west end of the Great Salt Lake. The sun is about to set on another day.
