Hustling its westbound Z train through the small desert community of Ludlow, BNSF 5293 gives a few honks to those of us taking photos below as it prepares to negotiate the curves west of town.
BNSF 2778 started life in 1975 with the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe as a GP39-2. It has lost its Bluebonnet paint scheme and has been assimilated into the Heritage III BNSF Borg collective.

BNSF C44-9W 4437 painted in H3 paint along with a KCS belle lead a westbound SALTOIG at Homer as it climbs the stiff grade up Goffs Hill.
I think the technical term for this is 'No Bueno'. The turbo on BNSF 573 (B40-8W) is blowing flame as it pulls a heavy load out of the Denver Yard.
