After having spent the day being broken in freshly repainted Western Maryland GP9 25 finally gets a rest as GP30 501 prepares to leave town with a dinner train.

Freshly repainted WM GP9 number 25 backs on to its short train for the trip back down to Cumberland.

Western Maryland was still very active between Bayard and Elkins into the late 70's. This coal train arrived at the same time I did and set up this great mood shot beside an abandonded store.
