UP 8901 with DPU 5838 as the only power. Haul a 188 car stack train over the Lynndyl Subdivision.

Lots of picture potential out in the east desert. The problem is finding trains to do it with. If your lucky you might see 3 to 4 train go a across these rail during daylight hours.

Did a little climbing, and shot a picture I have never shot before. Number 6 is in the Tucker section of the canyon by the Tie Fork rest stop.

Last shot of the day, it's 8:12 p.m. and the sun is still up. Amtrak number 5 is at Colton, Utah.

The Roper to Helper Manifest. Is on the west end of the Gilluly loop. UP 6392 is of Southern Pacific heritage.

Nearing where the Pleasant Valley Subdivision splits off. Amtrak 135 and 824 high ball through Colton, Utah.

Getting the day started off with Amtrak number 6. The train was running 2 1/2 hours late this morning. So I was able to get some shots that aren't usually possible.

For being a couple 20 plus year old AC4400CW, they are looking pretty good. A new coat of paint can do wonders for 6392 and 7153. They are hauling the Roper to Helper manifest.

Gilluly loop is the go to, for turning around an evening eastbound, on the old Rio Grande. Three BNSF ES44AC 6103, 6011, and 5948 and DPU 9245 7701 move this trackage rights train across the Union... (more)

I don't get the chance to to catch Amtrak #5 very often. On Friday one day from the longest day of the year, and he was on time, I was able to pull it off.
