In the mid 70's these engines started showing up around here.
Bessemer & Lake Erie SD18s and an SD38 await servicing at their Albion, Pa. engine facility between runs. BLE owned six SD18s, 851-856 built in September 1962.
The harvest is starting and midwest railroad have loaded up on motive power. This unit was once in Conrail's fleet as a GP40-2 but has been deturbo'd.
These two rebuilds have been stripped of usable parts and ride on shop trucks while awaiting scrapping.
