Sunday afternoon, July 22nd, and 1744 is climbing as it heads West out of La Veta on the way back to Alamosa

The San Luis & Rio Grande have been advertising a train operating between Alamosa and Antonito to provide a connection with the narrow gauge Cumbres and Toltec. This is that train.

On the flatland of the San Luis Valley, the former SP engine moves this train at about 50 mph.
