Another short-lived application of "elephant ears" apparently to lift smoke. The GEs were know for "gassing" deadhead crew members in trailing units. Apparently it didn't work.
An odd circumstance --- a Santa Fe GE B36-7 on the point of Amtrak No. 5 "California Zephyr" on the former D&RGW westbound out of Denver at Rocky, Colo. on Aug. 28, 1992.
