Amtrak's Pennsylvanian passes Alto Tower in Altoona, Pennsylvania just before a stop at the Amtrak station eastbound on the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line.

A busy morning in Rose Yard finds 18N, 11N, and 65K all waiting for new crews. The Juniata Locomotive Shop fills the background with lots of stored locomotives.

Admiral Cab SD40-2 3235 sits outside the Juniata Shops this morning. On the next two tracks are frames for 2 SD40-3 rebuilds 6404 and 6406.

NS 4493, in Helper service for the time being. This unit was rebuilt from NS C44-9W 9181

NS 6401 getting some work done just outside the shops this morning. This was rebuilt from NS 3568

OUCH! A Sperry Railcar rear ended a stopped NS Freight with a helper and caused a lot of damage including injuring several people in the railcar. The 7240 was the unit hit on the NS train.

NS 6224, basks in the morning sun in Altoona. Having had the finishing touches added to it. This will be heading to Buffalo NY soon.

NS 4492, brand new and not released yet, is with sister units 4491 and 4487. Basking in the afternoon sun.

On an autumn early evening CR 5577 and 5583 have 143 cars in tow (with helpers) as the train passes beneath the 2407 signal bridge coming out of Scotch Run curve on its way up the mountain.
