For some reason the number and the sublettering were giving the usual CSX attention to detail.
On of the later -2s idles in the terminal. Remarkably the strobes are still undamaged.
This is one of the four L&N orginals, not an SCL castoff. One wonders if these units ever pulled a passenger train, even in a test. Man, I'd like to have that shot.
The old enginehouse is still there in this shot. The late 3500s-early3600s were in an aborted merger number series and were the first L&N units delivered in FL.
Another U25 captured before the were gone. Louisville seemed especially rapid in getting these in FL so I have almost none in "real" L&N.
NB empty train with SOU pool power is in no hurry to go. In those days they'd set for hours.

I believe this was the only U-25B + slug set to be fully in FL colors.
The last go around for the caboose on Family Lines, you can smell the fresh paint (I'll take the risk and breath deeply).
Coupled with an ex-RS-3 slug this old horse is resting between jobs at the terminal. Another product of the great U Boat search of 1982.
NB freight chugs out of the yard crossing over the lead to the CV main heading to the main line.
One of my personal favorites is leading this NB train as it eases out of the yard during one of my many visits.
This one started on the SAL, became SCL and was sent to fill in after L&N sued its parent road.
