I took this shot through the window of my Amtrak sleeping car roomette. The window tint shifts the colors slightly on the locomotives. It makes them look like they were lighted at night.

Many of us consider the SW1 to be a small locomotive but next to this red Volkswagen Combi it looks big.

GP 30s showed up in Providence 1971 and held up the short distance through freight service untill Conrail arrived.

Up untill 1984 when a highway interchange came through this area this was the best spot for passenger train shots in Providence.

The silence of Chochituate Reservoir is broken briefly by light engines headed west to pick up a train at Worcester.

Canton Viaduct has been in continuous use since 1848. Today High Speed Acella trains roll over it. In this imge New Haven FL9s are crossing it at full track speed.

Over looking trestle near Ararat. Still wondering if this trestle became part of bike trail after line was torn up. I have forgotten how we got to this location to view this trestle.

This unit did not divulge a number. But I surmised it was either an F3 or F2. It sure did look like a well maintained antique.
