As traffic increased the P&W added two Southern RS-3's to the locmotive roster. 1601 in this image is all set to run. The other Southern RS in in the background waiting for new paint job.

P&W took over where the New Haven left off and became a successful regional system. The first locomotives were ALCO RS3's leased from the D&H.
