Looking more like Colorado than Pennsylvania, a Rio Grande-painted geep leads a westbound coke train out of the Wheeling & Lake Erie's Rook Yard.

Train 391 departs the east end of Rook Yard behind the WE 3034, WE 4001 and SWP 2001.

Memories of Norfolk & Western are brought to mind as two Wheeling & Lake Erie SD40-3's run long hood forward on trackage rights (NS, EX-N&W, EXX NKP) with a loaded ore train toward Bellevue.

Normally this train hauls carloads of coke to a local steel plant. However, with the economic turndown the mill is virtually shut down until the New Year, so now this train makes occasional runs ... (more)

This Wheeling train was waiting next to 389 at New London to get on CSX rails and will have to wait some more as 389 got to go first.

K388 is going through the curve at Dry Creek as it heads into Walbridge yard for a crew change before continuing on down the C&O to Fostoria, Willard and the W&LE connection at New London.
