Remarks & Notes

Train number 19, Amtrak's Southern Crescent, is running in 2 sections today, as this is the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and the first section here consists of mostly Southern Railway equipment that will run thru DC to New Orleans on the Southern Railway's Crescent. Amtrak took over the operation of the train on the Southern Railway on February 1, 1979, about 2 months after I shot this photo.
