Western Maryland 734 working hard on a cool October day

A CSX auto train heads west out of Cumberland.

2 railfans I met(standing on the bridge below train) at Sand Patch met up with the K110 Wheeling and Lake Erie ore train waiting for a spot in CSX's Cumberland Yard.

6000 power starts grinding towards points east past some relics in the twilight.

This is a Wheeling and Lake Erie train heading east with loads. The nifty "Rio Grand" paint scheme looks good here.

Western Maryland's fall plumage makes a nice addition to shiny WMSR 734 in this 2006 photo. Notice the colors reflected on 734's big twelve wheel tender.
