Freshly painted RCP&E local power sits by the former C&NW roundhouse in Rapid City, SD.

BHC 104 carries the last train of the day back to Hill City after a long day of work.

LBFRC winds along the main road only minutes from the RCP&E's medium sized yard at Rapid City.

It appears the crew came upon a derail that wasn't reset right and stopped to secure it. Here the engineer locks it in position while the conductor offers his two cents.

LBFRC is again climbing a steep grade as they are only a few miles out of Rapid City.

LBFRC is cruising just a few miles out of Belle Fourche as they climb one of the many hills on this scenic route.

The whistle is sounded as the morning excursion rolls onto the Spring Creek trestle and approaches the Old Hill City Road crossing.

The afternoon excursion makes its way towards Keystone on a sunny day.

The crew fills the saddle tank of the unique mallet engine before coupling to the train for the first excursion of the day. Larger crowds brought out 110 for the days activities.
