At MP 4.5 the railroad abuts Carman Road for ¼ mile. On the end of the log train two switchers pushing roar past and disappear into the woods on the trip up to Mill 5, five miles away.
Late in the afternoon Stick has his train of A-frames backed into the Mill 5 lead and waits for it to be loaded with fresh cut lumber to take back to town. Permission to be on Simpson property.
The gravel and cement trucks will have to wait for the log train to clear the crossing while on its way out of Shelton with waterwood destined for Mill 5, some 8 miles west of here.
