Bringing a big train up the hill. Just guessing on my part, but I would say about 70 cars.

As soon a the Union Pacific Chevron Local finished working the industry. Right behind was the Utah Railway RUT311 to work the same industry. As they where sharing the industrial lead.

Almost feels like UP is trying out a new paint job here. Instead of Grey and Yellow, It's Brown and Yellow with gray trucks. Reminds me of the short lived Utah Southern with their SD40's painted B... (more)

Taking advantage of the last week of June when the sun in far north in sky. On an essentially northbound train.

Two Utah Railway units have badly faded paint 2000, and 3002. The crazy thing is they are the ones with the newest paint jobs in 2015. Second unit 2008 was painted 2013.

I was tipped off the night before. That the GP7U, RSSX 1337 would lead the train up from Garfield to the Smelter in the morning. Kind of crazy to see a 70 plus year old locomotive still in regular... (more)

Utah Railway 2007 and 2001 are switching tank cars at Woods Cross Industrial lead. Utah Railway 2007 in it's former life was SSW GP35 780, then SSW 6680, then SP 6680.
