Remarks & Notes

Originally built for ATSF, TSBY 2394, nicknamed the "Corkpine Express", is an RS-1 that had its nose chopped by other owner, Atlanta & St. Andrews Bay. The TSBY used the locomotive prior to when it was awarded the former Ann Arbor line contract. When the contract was in place, the railroad used the locomotive throughout the lines it operated. However, due to age and immense cost to repair the locomotive, it was retired from service. The locomotive was purchased by a private owner and still resides in Michigan. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by W.T. Clynes.
