Rescued. Raven Rail LLC's recent equipment move helped save S-1 Alco 5 from an uncertain future. This engine was built in 1947 by Alco Schenectady (New York) and used as their plant switcher. In later years, it wound up on the Saratoga and North Creek Railroad, where it sat for many years. Pictured here on Saturday, June 28, 2014, it is parked in the storage area near the North Creek, New York Station.
