Chessie Sytems B&O Engine 3812 pulls a Special over the Chicago river. As tourist, we met this train only by chance as a surprise.

Catching a Chessie engine on the point was getting rare by 1997. Catching a solid set of three Chessie GP40's on the Rockwood Switcher was amazing!

B&O wagontop caboose C2423 sits at the Lorain & West Virginia station in Wellington, Ohio awaiting it's next run on the excursion train.

Tons of GP9's are retired, being sold for scrap, and finding new owners...

The rain continued most of the day. This happens in hilly country in the summer. A spectacular freight arrived with 6 units leading. A GP35, two GP 30s, F unit and two geeps.

There was a time when standard cab EMDs wearing classic paint schemes powered CSX's coal trains. Hard to believe that 20 years have passed since this photo was taken.

A helper engine sits next to AM Tower at the crest of 17 mile grade on the Ex-B&O Mountain Sub. Soon it will receive a signal to head downhill for it's next assignment
