Remarks & Notes |
A Conrail Syracuse based plow flanges track 2. Conrail rarely plowed the Chicago Line in the late 80's and 90's. The frequency and speed of trains usually kept the rails clear and there were not a lot of big storms in this period. This was only the second time I saw a plow on this line (the other being the Blizzard of 1993). The Utica area got about 30" of snow the day before and Conrail ran this plow from Syracuse to Selkirk. Even after 30" they were only using the flanger. Interestingly they used a Southern Pacific B40-8 #8034 as the power. |
