Remarks: A SB Conrail OCS is making a late day run down the Montreal Secondary on its way from Montreal to Selkirk via Syracuse. The train is between block stations Stan and Brook with a passing track on the south side. Lead E8 # 4020 is now restored as PRR # 5809, it’s original number. Former numbers include PRR # 5809, PRR and PC # 4309, Amtrak # 496. Unit briefly became NS # 1000 before sale. Trailing E8 # 4021 is now restored as PRR # 5711, it’s original number. Former numbers include PRR # 5711, PRR and PC # 4311, Amtrak # 317 & # 499. Went to CSX and was stored as CR # 4021 before sale.
Remarks: TV200 with C40-8W # 6066, B36-7 # 5050, and C36-7 # 6623 rolls by CP SR, the old SR Tower at the west end of Gulf Summit grade. This was an EB helper station when helpers were in use on Gulf Summit grade. In 1990 SR Tower was just a glorified electrical cabinet but was still well maintained by Conrail. This also marked the start of the west end of double track over Gulf Summit on the Southern Tier Line.
Remarks: The 555 rolls out of Binghamton in its typical early evening departure slot. Power on this day was 3 MLW C424's. The 4240 and 4245 are trailing in the multimark scheme.
