Remarks & Notes

In November of 1986, Amtrak's California Zephyr, Desert Wind, and Pioneer long distance passenger trains were moved from the Union Pacific depot to the Rio Grande depot in Salt Lake City. A few weeks before the move, new lighting, upgraded track, station platform repair and a new building to house baggage handling equipment were signs that progress was being made.
