Dashing through the snow. With two units (NS 9458 & NS 1045) and only 38 cars, CN 528 is really flying as it heads east on a snowy afternoon.
The trailing unit on CN 543 (CSXT 468) lets out a great burst of black smoke as the train heads west on the transfer track of CN's Montreal Sub as it leaves track 29 on CN's new right of way.
A mix of NS and G&W power. Detour SLR 393 has just arrived on the island of Montreal with a mix of NS and G&W power: NS 8380, NS 9803, NS 9448, QGRY 3105 & SLR 3035.
Lucky timing. I couldn't have gotten any luckier with my timing here, as CN 543 at left (with CSXT 3224 & CSX 468 for power) is backing up at Turcot West, just as CN 323 passes at right, wi... (more)

CN 528 with NS 9942, NS 7306, NS 2773 and 62 cars rounds a curve on the north track of CN's Montreal Sub as a foreman heads in the opposite direction on the transfer track.
A pair of CSXT AC4400CW's still in the endangered YN2 paint scheme (CSXT 518 & CSXT 143) lead CN 327 around a curve in Beaconsfield on yet another frigid day.
A rebuilt GE and EMD. CN 528 is crossing the Lachine Canal with the skyline of downtown Montreal in the background on a truly frigid day. Power is two recently rebuilt units: NS 4058 and NS... (more)
A great lashup before it stopped running. Loaded oil train CN 710 is slowing down for a crew change at Turcot West during the winter of 2015 with a spectacular lashup: CN 2406, BCOL 4624, B... (more)
Not just in Florida anymore. CSXT's 25 ex-EMDX SD70M's were mostly captive to Florida until recently, but can now be found systemwide. Here CSXT 4693 (ex-EMDX 7018) is leading a 103-car CN ... (more)
An unexpected train and an unexpected leader. I was surprised by an eastbound crossing the Richelieu River on CN's St-Hyacinthe Sub not too long after CN 120 passed, it had NS 9512, CN 3080... (more)

In Canada for the third time. For the third time in a bit over a week, a pair of UP GEVO's (UP 5479 & UP 5481) came into Montreal on CP 142 and left on CP 143. Here CP 143 is passing throug... (more)
