Amtrak 644 is the only operable SDP40F in existence, owned by https://dynarail.org/ with the hope of restoring it to an Amtrak livery. As with many historic preservation efforts, it's not easy to pull off. The locomotive is seen operating on the Nevada State Railroad Museum, where it hopefully can remain. This example of Amtrak's first new diesel has been kicked around over the past few years from one haven to the next.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
