Remarks & Notes
The Broadway Limited heads into the morning sun, with one of the GG-1s not picked up by Amtrak- No. 4894, built by PRR/GE in April 1940. I'm sure the passengers in the sleeper right behind the baggage car were enjoying the mighty blasts from the G's Leslie A-200-156 horn, sounding for Eby-Chickies Road crossing, behind the photographer. Factory tuning for the A-200-156 was D#. The sound was a deep, penetrating "honk," that I could usually hear at my parent's house, 7 miles away from this crossing.
