The National Limited is westbound to Harrisburg for an engine change to diesels on its daily run to Pittsburgh, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City. At KC, a through-sleeper was switched to No. 3, the Southwest Limited to Los Angeles. No. 914 was built by Altoona/GE as the PRR 4914 in June, 1942.
