BNSF 5136, BN 8195, ATSF 6958, and ATSF 6764 idle near the yard office in Albuquerque.
The Rio Puerco River was running muddy as Santa Fe Train 1, San Francisco Chief, crossed it westbound on Aug. 8, 1970, after leaving Albuquerque, about 34 miles back.
The train was the Grand Canyon. The "L" for 309L is right above the buffer and stands for "Lead". The late Roger Puta's slide was scanned and posted by Marty Bernard.
