Climbing to Shangdian summit

Cormans QJ was let out of its stall as it galloped west leading a small freight on a test run for the next days Kentucky Derby train.

This is the famous view from the top of the "idiot hill" as the Chinese named it down to the Simingyi viaduct.

The early morning passenger train running between Nancha and Xilin made a stop en route to take water. This gave us sufficient time to jump out of the train and to take this picture.

Shortly after cutting off the train to the right the QJ's were split apart and were left alone to slowly let them cool off and sit for the night so they could be winterized the next day. Here we s... (more)
