The Rio Grande Zephyr races around the big curve at Tabernash, approaching Fraser, heading toward Denver in the late afternoon.
An eastbound loaded coal train has just eased to a stop at the east end of Tabernash siding as the Denver to Grand Jct, CO manifest freight MNYGJ makes its way west.
