A pair of KCS units lead train 685 (frac sand loads) west out of Kimball on the Paynesville Sub. Somehow, this is my first time getting a KCS unit leading on camera, let alone a pair.

Loaded taconite heads southbound on the Missabe Sub with a widecab SD40-2 on point. The rain and clouds took a break for a bit on this afternoon when this train appeared.

A set of Illinois Central units head south through Burnett with fresh steaming pellets from United Taconite.

The daily Laurel, MT to Northtown Yard manifest heads east through Kandiyohi past the iconic elevator with several units on point, typical for this train.
