An old ALCO T-6, now owned by the Roanoke Chapter NRHS, pulls short excursions for the VMT on Train Lover's day.

I shot the westbound Norfolk & Western Y-6 2-8-8-2 with auxiliary tender from the 5th St. bridge over the Roanoke yard.

An ES40DC sits coupled up to the new D8.5s and the research car behind them as they prepare to test out the new locomotives. Smoke from the D8.5s can be seen rising above them.

Close to 100 units sit in the West Yard east of the 10th Street Bridge. The fate for many of them is unknown.
