142 has just crossed the main Limerick - Dublin road and the level crossing can just be seen rising in the background. With the load of shale it powers up the bank en route to the Cement works.

076 is piling on the power as it climbs out with a passenger service from Sligo to Dublin. These are now railcar operated.

076 is pulling the sligo to Waterford Timber which is one of the regular freight trains left on the Irish Network.

Now rarely seen on passenger duties is an 071 class. This one is operating a special from Waterford to Claremorris in Co. Mayo with Pilgrims to Knock Shrine and is just north of Limerick Junction.

221 is seen here on a Dublin to Cork Service using the new MKIV stock. A contrast is seen here between the on Semaphore Signals and what was then the newest motive power on Irish Rails.

2602 is approaching Cobh Junction en route to Cork City. It then continues to Mallow which 20 miles north of Cork city. Its nice to see the Semaphore signals still in situ on this line.

177 is working as limerick pilot here and is looking surpirsingly clean. This is one of the 13 bo-bo's left in Irish Service.

144 is seen here acting as station pilot at Limerick and is waiting patiently for its next duty. With Railcars being ever more used on the Irish System scenes like this will soon be a memory.
