Led by a pair of Florida East Coast "Champion" GE ES44C4s, FEC 101 heads south along the San Sebastian River near St. Augustine, on its way to Miami from Jacksonville.
FEC 141 making for a rare photo op with good light on the bridge in St. Augustine. You can see the train winding along the river in the distance.
FEC 226 wanders into St. Augustine, my last train of 2016. The LNG fuel has really made some changes on the FEC this year past.
A photo that could have been taken in 2009.
FEC's annual Christmas Train!
As usual, FEC jumped right back into action after the holiday. The first train was 141 bringing a southbound in favorable light across the marsh a shot I been trying to get for years.
On a foggy Christmas Eve FEC 226 crosses the tidewater in St. Augustine. The Florida white Christmas usually means fog.
On Christmas Eve FEC 210 swings around a curve into the Nation's oldest city on a mild morning.
FEC 210 has been running earlier these day, seen here with the LNG tender. A contrast from 226 that had an EMD lashup.
FEC 226 lead by a solid EMD lashup an image that could have been easily taken 3 years ago, however these days fairly rare. But it happens once in a while.
Exceptionally rare for a single GEVO to lead a train on the FEC. This was the Monday only 228 on a foggy morning in the Nation's Oldest City.
You know it's Christmas in Florida when the FEC Christmas train arrives! Here attendees get a close look at the big ES44C4 as others in the background meet "Santa"
FEC 210 the 4th train in the parade lead by SD40-2 #715 which was the grand finale in the 4 train parade.
