N&W Class J No. 611 is sitting on the old PRR No. 1 Track, waiting for clearance to head west to Strasburg.

The mixed train has placed its two loaded cars, coach, and caboose on the siding. It will soon return to the string of empty cars to shove them back on to the interchange track.

Old No. 31, which made its first run on the Strasburg on September 1, 1960, is seen here 30 years later, ready to shove a heavy Santa Claus Special up the grade.
