I believe I posted this string from the other end a couple of days ago and thought folks might like to see the reversed.

Rusty wheels, missing parts, cap on the stack gone and general condition tell us this old gal has probably burbled her last burble.

With a locomotive facility harking back to the old shortline days, this operation has a pretty good looking unit.

Back in the days when ASAB had an interesting roster this varied lashup was just an ordinary consist to take the road freight north but that 38 on the far end is a harbinger of uniformity to come.

It's amazing how a good rebuild can take a beat up old warhorse and turn out something just like it came off the showroom floor. This one is so pretty they let it handle an executive special.

They look kind of stubby now but we remember the days when these units where the latest thing. This one has been modernized and the great SP light package is gone.
