An SP local with unrebuilt units is working the interchange. The diminutive TXTC unit could only push 2-3 cars up the tracks to SP which necessitated several runs daily, on no particular schedule.

Yet another short string of cars at the SP interchange on a hot south Texas day.

With three cars in tow, about its limit, #1 is approaching notoriously abrupt Sherman St. crossing, know for catching eighteen wheelers. It was closed permanently not long afterwards.

Westbound on the UP somewhere between Flatonia and San Antonio.

What do you do with a somewhat problematic SD24. Take the turbo out and paint it up real pretty and use it effectively for several years. I like this one.
