Former Crab Orchard & Egyptian 2-8-0 No. 17 is displayed near the Boone depot, and was repainted a few years ago. It last ran in September 1986.

Freshly outshopped, #40 hustles south along the Aquetong Creek with three coaches bound for Lahaska and return. The creek was suprisingly warm for June but the week of 80 degree days helped.

This train was moving across the bridge at about 25 MPH. The flood gates on Lake Lavon are rarely open. Catching a train on the bridge with the dam and the floodgates open 'took a little work".
