An eastbound coal drag creeps through Natural Tunnel State Park. Brake and rail squeal fill the natural cut disturbing the solitude. We didn't mind in the least!
A westbound train of empties passes the iconic Red Stone Drive-In as it heads towards Natural Tunnel State Park. Earlier in the day these same engines brought a load of coal east.
Work train NS 930 is tied down in the siding at Glenita. In earlier years, the now inactive quarry in the background provided much of the ballast for the ex-Southern's Appalachia Division.
