CSX J763 heads south toward Osbourne Yard with two SD40-2s.

Another load of southern Indiana coal has just crossed the Ohio River into Louisville as the train heads for a power plant in Georgia.

under threatening skies CSX train J781 rolls by the NS Magolia Yard as it makes its way back home to nearby Osborn Yard. Not long after this photo, J781 and counterpart J772 would be abolished.

A seldom seen sw1200 wastes yet another day away at the somewhat secluded jefferson riverport coal blending facility. Unit looks to be in good shape, but its been quite sometime since Ive seen it... (more)

CSX 466 leads autorack Q200 south across Brandis Ave. in the University of Louisville's backyard as it nears Osborn Yard.

Built as B&O 6901 now CSX Road Slug 2225 leads the NS transfer job Y220 north just out of Osborn Yard by FX.

CSX GP40-2 6048 leads southbound Y129 over the Falls of the Ohio into Louisville.

Built in September 1972 as Kentucky & Indiana 79 it later became Southern and then NS 79.In April 1988 it still wore its Southern paint as it worked the yard in Louisville.

Westbound NS 160 arrives at Louisville with a nice GP38, GP30,GP35 and GP30 combo.For myself this would be the last time that I would ever photograph an all Southern consist.

LIRC SW1200's 9321 and 9373 have crossed the Ohio River from Jeffersonville to make a pickup from the PAL yard in Louisville.
