Remarks & Notes |
This Deseret Ry. empty coal train is about 1 ½ miles from the end of the unloading loop at the Bonanza Power Plant. Ahead lies 32 miles of running across this stark, uninhabited and at this time of year snow covered landscape. Deseret Ry is the second name this railroad had painted on it’s locomotives. It started in January 1984 as the Deseret Western Ry. and kept this name until December 2001. In December 2001, the name was changed to Deseret Ry. by simply painting over the word Western on the side of these E60’s. Deseret Ry. lasted until July 2011 when the entire fleet of 4 E60’s was completely repainted with a new name; Deseret Power Ry. which remains to this day. The trailing National of Mexico grey unit remained un-repainted from its acquisition until the general fleet repainting in 2011. These units are kept clean and in immaculate condition to this day. |
