I don't know the back story of why these these two beast were in town. SDP45's 3207 and 3201 are at the Salt Lake City, Union Pacific depot, hooked to Amtrak 314. If you were standing in this spot today you would be standing in the middle of the Gateway out door shopping mail. The depot still stands, and is part of the mall. Every thing else related to the railroad is gone. Even the Union Pacific sign on the west side was ripped off. From what I understand, it was out of a lack of communication or misunderstanding, but it's gone. Tom Ellis photo.
