Remarks & Notes
The pride and joy of the E&LS. Although it looks a little worse for wear, the #400 still operates around Escanaba as needed. The #300 doesn't operate much on the road anymore, but is kept spotless clean and is used for switching around the shop and yard. it does get tiring hearing uninformed fans talking bad about the E&LS, so lets put all that talk to rest. The employees were some of the nicest I have met, and the owner, John Larkin, is without a doubt the largest donor to railroad preservation in the United States year in and year out. I know this has become overkill and annoying, but I cannot emphasis enough that this was arranged through personal relationships and DO NOT THINK ABOUT TRESPASSING. No, just because I was allowed to do this does not mean you are allowed to, I have seen too many good things ruined by people pestering railroads by saying "well he got to do it!". Please respect the privacy of the E&LS and enjoy this rare look at some of their unique equipment.
