| On a very frigid Friday afternoon (-24c ambient) CPKC ran a snow spreader west across the 132 mile Nipigon Subdivision from Schreiber to Thunder Bay. After cleaning up Sprucewood they are on their way west crossing over the Black Sturgeon River at mile 74. CP SD60 6239 was tasked to shove CP Jordan Spreader 402886 built in 1966 and assigned to the Schreiber Division. CN's former Kinghorn Subdivision ran in close proximity to Canadian Pacific's rails for a few miles in the area and saw its last revenue train in 2005 and the 190 mile Kinghorn Sub between Longlac and Thunder Bay was dismantled by 2010. |
