The Sisters Defying Time: The Pan Am Railways OCS crosses the Androscoggin River from Lewiston into Auburn, Maine on its trek west to Rigby yard in Portland. A beautiful day coupled with an equally stunning train really created quite a scene, definitely one that people didn’t want to miss. Powered by the “Sisters”, Pan Am Railways FP9As #1 and #2 really do look as great hauling their antique train as they would’ve sixty years ago. With the implementation of PTC systems across Pan Am, these units’ days traversing their home rails have been rumored to be coming to an end for quite some time, so chances to see them are definitely not to be taken for granted. That said, another shot taken off the bucket list, and another successful trip is in the books.
