Remarks & Notes

Alco switchers dominated the yard jobs at Boston's Beacon Park Yard in late New York Central and early Penn Central days. Ex-NYC S2 9649 worked the west end of the yard on a spring afternoon. Note those bargain 1970 toll rates on the Mass Pike! In 2019 this yard is gone and the land has been cleared for development.
