Remarks & Notes
Cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 3/4 # 4 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke, built in 1913 by SLM Winterthur for the Brigue-Furka-Disentis Railway (BFD) is pulling her train down the east side of the Furka pass and crossing the 36 meter long and 17 meter high Steffenbach bridge. This bridge is folded down every autumn, to give way to the avalanches. This unique construction was built in 1925 by Theodor Bell & Cie/Kriens/Switzerland, the idea came from engineer Erminio Bernasconi of the Rhaetian Railway.
