Back in the day, the Bytown Railway Society of Ottawa sponsored a number of excursions on the 56 mile long T&NVR, one of two operating logging railways in Canada at the time. The northbound consist was a dozen empty log-cars complete with arch-bar trucks, a CP gondola, and the T&NVR caboose and business car, both ex-CP. Power was GE 70-tonner No. 12 - ex-CN. The log cars were dropped about 25 miles up the line. A lumberjack's steak lunch was served at the camp. The T&NVR's crane and a flat car were added to the southbound consist. The mainline closed in 1986.
