Locomotives from the Weyerhaeuser Woods Line and the Oregon, California & Eastern prepare to switch out stored cars. Abandonment of the railroads was pending, so all rolling stock was to be moved off line for sale or scrapping. The blooming sagebrush are the high desert's version of fall color.
