| The last operating GG-1s to visit Harrisburg, if I'm not mistaken. NJT 4877 and 4876 have just pulled the Lancaster Chapter NRHS "Farewell to the GG-1" special from Harrisburg-Philadelphia-Perryville back to Harrisburg via the Port Road. The car men are seen here preparing to uncouple the units to allow the 4877 to lead on the return trip to Lancaster. The highlight of the day was an upcoming full track speed runby at Lancaster's station. The Gs would run for two more years on NJT, but the days of pulling the Broadway Limited to Harrisburg were over. |
